Resumen
Uninterruptible Power Supply is an electronic equipment used to provide stabilized and uninterruptible power to the load. The main failure mode in these equipment is caused by depletion of batteries after overcoming the number of cycles of charge and discharge recommended by the manufacturer. The objective of this article is to determine the optimal preventive replacement interval of batteries of small UPS's (1,2KVA) and to determine the optimal time of overhaul of 1500 equipment based on corrective maintenance logs and through methods of life data analysis, optimization and reliability growth. Distribution failures models will be obtained to equipment of five regions of State of Paraná, optimization flowcharts of preventive maintenance will be simulated and reliability performance of theses UPS's will be analised in order to determine the optimal time for replacement by new equipment. The analysis results will be compared with the current policies of preventive maintenance and obsolescence of the company in order to optimize maintenance costs.
