Resumen
In this paper we analyze the mathematical modeling as a teaching strategy and learning adjustment functions where present mathematical modeling activities developed in the course Introduction to Mathematical Modelling, with graduating students of the Bachelor of Mathematics from the State University of Northern Parana - Campus Cornelio Procopio on intention to use mathematical modeling as a strategy for teaching and learning of mathematics in accordance with the trends proposed by the Mathematics Education. The research is applied and qualitative interpretative nature. Data collection for the survey was conducted during the UTFPR-PG activities and held in a classroom in UENP-CP, through extra-mathematical activity. The activity undertaken involved the analysis of social problems, group work and exchange of information between students and teacher in search of solution of these problems using mathematical concepts through mathematical modeling. During the implementation of the project we can see the students' interaction with others and with the problems suggested for the activity. At the end of the activities it was felt that students contextualize the mathematical content in everyday situations, dialogue, student / student and student / teacher collaboration in the interpretation and understanding of certain concepts in determining the model for calibration of equipment which allows them to learn mathematics a practical and enjoyable, which shows that mathematical modeling is a strategy for teaching and learning that can contribute to the learning of mathematics. Upon completion of this research, presents an educational booklet with the development of an extra-mathematical design for teaching and learning functions adjustment.
