Resumen
The study was carried out promoting a performance comparison between a commercial quartz cuvette model and different prototypes, developed through a CAD software and printed on a 3D printer, via Fused Deposition Modeling - FDM. The internal and external surfaces of the prototypes were prepared and treated, with subsequent collage of windows made with microscopic glass and sealing tests. At the end of the surfaces treatment and insurance of the sealing, in all the cuvettes scans of a solution of Brilliant Blue FCF in water were realized between the wavelengths of 400 and 780 nm, in order to make the comparison with the commercial model. The results obtained were satisfactory for the maximum absorbance values, 3.2% lower in the model made in PLA, 0.8% lower in the model made in ABS and 2.8% higher in the model made in Stainless Steel PLA, when compared to the quartz commercial model. In the calculation of concentration of solutions, the models did not demonstrate a good precision and are not recommended for quantitative analyzes in their current configuration.
