Resumen
The world is constantly evolving and science has always been a great ally for this evolution to occur, within a huge range of sciences, it is important to magnify the biotechnology, which is widely used and contributes to the growth of various segments such as food, personnel hygiene, household care, food and beverages, animal nutrition, biofuels, agriculture, etc. This growth is mainly linked to the development and production of enzymes, as any production process, the enzymatic production generates waste and it is necessary to make the treatment and destination of these. The objective of this monograph is to perform the Preliminary Risk Analysis (PRA) of the activities developed in the process of treatment and distribution of biomass, the main waste of the enzymatic production process from a biotechnology company located in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, in order to characterize the existing risks. The methodology used was the application of APR in the company object of the study. For this, it was accompanied by the day-to-day of the employees of the Environmental Operations sector, responsible for the treatment and distribution of biomass, in order to identify the risks to be analyzed. After the application of the PRA, 28 dangerous situations were found, being classified as: 08 despicable, 06 minor, 10 moderate, 4 serious and none was classified as critical. With the exception of situations classified as negligible, mitigating measures were recommended for the others, in order to reduce the risk classification and prevent possible accidents.
