Resumen
The use of geotechnologies in the forest environment is in constant development. Among the possible applications, studies are currently being carried out on the quantification and estimation of dendrometric variables in areas with native and planted forests. The present study had the objective to compare the volume estimates generated with use of traditional forest inventory and using the image obtained by the use of a camera coupled in a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) in an experimental area of silvopastoral system with louro-pardo (Cordia trichotoma Vell. Arrab., Ex Steud). The traditional forest inventory was carried out by means of a census, collecting dendrometric variables: total height (h), diameter at breast height DBH), crown area (AC) and, with aerial image interpretation, the dendrometric variables for each individual. The diameter at breast height (DBH), obtained by aerial imaging, was estimated by mathematical equations that related it to h, diameter and / or AC. To the calculate the volume, the individuals were rigorously cubed in order to know the form factor for the species in a silvipastoril system. Afterwards, under the information of h, DBH and form factor, the volume of each tree was calculated and, through the sum of the individual volumes, it was possible to know the total volume of the experiment and extrapolations per hectare. According to the statistical analysis, there was a difference between the methodologies, being that the methodology used the aerial imagery underestimated the volume of wood, mainly due to overlapping of crowns. However, through this study it was possible to obtain a form factor for the species, to identify which works using images should be performed in the full vigor period of the leaf area of the louro-pardo, as well as to serve as a basis for other studies that come to using this methodology.
