Resumen
The learning style is the method that the individual can absorb the knowledge passed on, interpret and understand those information to relate to their experience. Academic performance is the method as higher education institutions assess the performance of their academics. This research aimed to identify the predominant learning style in academic and Accounting course teachers, and their correlation with academic performance. Data were collected through the application of the Inventory of Kolb Learning Styles in a sample of 94 students and 23 teachers. The results show that 45.74% of the students are the convergent style, and 43.48% of the teachers are assimilators. Of the 26 analyzed correlations six really influence and have significance to the academic performance, which are: Reproach, hours dedicated to studies, the ESMS ticket Note Facility in Mathematics Learning Styles of students and teachers of Learning Styles. These results confirm that the learning styles influence on academic achievement, where students have the same teacher's learning style tend to have a lower failure rate, proving the theory proposed by Kolb. With this, the Inventory Kolb demonstrates an effective option in identifying ways of learning of students, which when used correctly can assist in developing a way of teaching that covers all types of students.
