Resumen
The present work presents the analysis of the behavior of CA-60 steel in a fire situation. Steel is a widely used material in engineering all over the world. It is one of the main components of reinforced concrete structures. When in a fire situation, the whole structure undergoes several modifications, among them, the decrease of the resistance to the flow and modulus of elasticity. Analyzing steel alone ensures that its behavior is monitored efficiently. In this way, CA-60 steel bars with a diameter of 5 mm were tested at various temperatures (200 ° C, 400 ° C, 600 ° C, 800 ° C and 1000 ° C), with exposure time of 60 and 120 minutes, then air-cooled and a tensile test performed on the universal press. Voltage-deformation diagrams were obtained which demonstrated how great the loss of resistive capacity can be with increasing temperature and how important is air cooling to steel bars.
