Políticas monetária e fiscal nos governos Lula (2003 - 2010)

Abstract

The present study deals with the fiscal and monetary policy in the two periods of government Luíz Inácio Lula da Silva (2003-2010), putting in question the characteristics and consequences of the measures taken for the development and macroeconomic stability in Brazil. The economy was going through a turbulent period and uncertainty about the direction the country would take with the new government were enormous. But the sense of the new economic team was guided by continuing the policy of the previous government. Measurements were taken and the economy stabilized. Therefore, there is in these eight years the effectiveness of economic policies adopted to promote the development of the economy as a whole.
