dc.description.abstractThis paper aims at the reconditioning of thermal process from a didatic bench, and after, the creation and control of a supervisoy system with time delay. It also presented a study about the basics control actions, and about the definition and aplication of the Smith Predictor. After de reconditining of the bench, the linearity of the process was verified, to be able to represent the system closer to the actual model around the operating point, and thus design the controller with greater accuracy. Also, a supervisory system was designed in C# language to control and monitoring the thermal proccess with time delay. The controller showed adequate performance resetting the error of the system and decreasing the time constant to a minimum, within the limits of the system saturation, however due to the fact that the delay generated is very small, it was not possible to see the effects caused by the predictive control system. Therefore, approximate simulations of the same process were made in software, but with a bigger delay, where it was possible to observe the action of predictive control in the attenuation of the effects caused by the dead time.
