Resumen
Brassica oleracea var., having as representatives the cabbage, cauliflower and among others, is considered a herbaceous and bi-annually plant, very produced and consumed in Brazil. Among the plagues that affect this culture, the aphid Myzus persicae Sulzer causes direct damages by plant sap suction, affecting its grown and also indirect damages, such as the entry of pathogens into the plant through perforations left by the insect. Many forms of control have been tested, amid them chemical control, biological control and alternative control with natural products and plants extracts. Therefore, this work had as objective verify the action of Beauveria bassiana (Boveril [marca registrada]) and pitanga and patchouli essential oil on mortality of M. persicae. For the bioassays, young leaves of B. oleracea were bathed in oil and fungus solutions, placed to dry and posteriorly conditioned in Petri dishes. Then, ten nymphs of third and fourth instars were placed on each leaf and the dishes were taken to the BOD (T 24ºC ± 2ºC and photoperiod 12/12 hours). The mortality was verified daily for four days. Five treatments were used for each experiment: distilled water and Tween 80 [marca registrada], distilled water, B. bassiana 108 con/Ml, Pitanga essential oil at 1% v/v, Pitanga essential oil at 1% v/v + B. bassiana, the first two considered the witnesses. The same treatments were repeated for Patchouli essential oil. Each treatment had five replicates. The experimental design was randomized and the averages compared with ScottKnott 5% test. Through statistical analyzes, it was verified that none of the treatments in both experiments obtained statistical difference when compared to the witnesses. However, future experiments evaluating these treatments about the insect biology are essentials to verify its efficiency.
