Elaboração de guias para calibração de monitores médicos

Abstract

This essay presents the procedure used to formulate three guides for medical displays calibration, corresponding to three different manufacturers: EIZO, PLANAR and BARCO, following all quality criteria proposed by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). It was made a theoretical approach about the procedures needed for the quality control of the monitors, in which calibration stands out as indispensable for maintenance of the displayed image quality. Following the recommendations of each manufacturer, three guides were elaborated. The material for EIZO monitor was sent to the company headquarters, in São Paulo, and it was received a positive feedback about its implementation. In addition to the elaboration of the guides, the displays were evaluated after the performance of each calibration, analyzing the calibration's graphics generated after the procedures, and using the TG18-QC test pattern. The results showed that only the PLANAR monitor had some signals of nonconformity with the established pattern, so, it cannot be used by a medical team to perform diagnostics.
