Arranjos Produtivos Locais: análise da caracterização do APL de Ponta Grossa com base nos indicadores

Abstract

Knowledge and innovation are fundamental elements in a global market. Brazilian small and medium companies are more vulnerable face to market and economic contingencies. When companies are organized in local clusters they become more competitive and are able to find solutions that would not be possible to find alone. This work aims to analyze the organizations evolution through the times and the relations among companies and other institutions in a geographically defined space. The general objective is to analyze the local cluster characteristics in metal-mechanic sector, in Ponta Grossa city. The work method used indices found in literature, Ponta Grossa economic census analysis and the report of IPARDES (Parana Institute for Economical and Social Development) about local clusters characteristics. The research is characterized as descriptive exploration besides documental about the APL's. As a result of the research it has been noticed there was a joint in the metalmechanic sector classified as Sectorial and Regional Development Center (NDSR) in accordance with the IPARDES report.
