Resumen
This research presents a theoretical and conceptual fundamentals of shortcircuit in low and medium voltage electrical instalations, purposing to create a guide that defines (Solves) the ATPV (Arc Thermal Performance Value), in a format of a flowchart, followed by an Excel spreadsheet, with the intend of improving the worker safety. A normative collection about ATPV is addressed. Some concepts are also discussed, such ones related to electrical installations, like; searching for the loads in an electrical installation, the existence of electrical design in accordance with the NR- 10 (regulatory standard), establishing the system where the analysis of ATPV will be applied. With a initial data search, the short circuit aspects are clarified, which will be used later in the ATPV calculation to rank the operator's clothing. The knowledge of what is ATPV is essential to understand the relevance of this study, primarily to aim the safety of the operator indeed, to optimize, as far as possible, the aspects of ergonomics and economy with the correct dimensioning of the clothing. In order to complement the work, a large-scale industry is used as a case study for the direct application of the guide and the spreadsheet to define the ATPV from the calculation of the incident energy, in critical points, under light of the currents of short circuit, of the installation.
