Abstract

This brief study highlighted the importance of creating a basic sanitation system in rural areas and in regions that do not have an adequate sewerage system, going beyond any other need. It is also revealed that the lack of basic sanitation in rural areas is still a point that should be discussed, because due to the lack of investment and political barriers these regions do not present sanitation that can provide a better quality of life for the population. The investments that Brazil receives are destined to the large regions and centers, forgetting these small regions, bringing as a consequence many deficits in the public health and the health of the people. The treatment of sewage is an important aspect to be studied, as it allows the preservation of the environment in general, and to minimize public health expenditures as a whole. Due to this worrying scenario presented by lack of basic sanitation, many jobs are already being undertaken to improve and quality of life for these people. Based on the study and research carried out to make this project, it was possible to understand that the need to implement a sanitation system would be important for these regions. This innovative system known as an evapotranspiration basin is a viable and ecological alternative that aims to collect sanitary waste from miscellaneous housing.
