Resumen
In this work, it was studied the characteristics of aluminum powder in different particle sizes for the weld bead, analyzes were in visual aspects and hardness. Aluminum powder with a particle size between 45-106μm and 106-180μm were deposed on carbon substrates AISI 1020. Specimens were subjected to Vickers hardness test and optical microscopy, it was found that the samples showed an excellent quality in hardness, with values that exceeded 900 HV, probably due to the formation of aluminum oxide (Al2O4). Visually, by analyzing the images determined by optical microscopy, it were verified that samples with smaller particle size showed a uniform appearance and samples with large grain size showed imperfections such as lack of melt, probably due to the difficulty of transporting through the feed gas. The experiment was considered satisfactory, the welding method TIG by powder feeding managed to prove its effectiveness and proper functioning to the best marketing techniques available.
