Two relevant issues are frequently addressed when it comes to studying the construction industry: sustainability, and the necessity of enhancing the productivity. However, few studies associate both issues. The matter of sustainability is important when it comes to the construction industry because it is the main consumer of natural resources, it is also the main generator of waste, and therefore one of the human activities that most impacts the environment and the people’s life. On the matter of productivity, the low efficiency of the sector when compared to other industry sectors is also relevant. And the high level of waste is a consequence of the low efficiency. Thus, on the quest for higher productivity levels, other impacts may be felt, such as the decrease of waste production, and the reduction on the consumption of natural resources, which may reduce the pressures on the environment. Within the improvement of the productivity and reduction of waste by the construction industry, the philosophy of Lean Construction emerges. This work aims to analyze the correlation between the results on the theme of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and the high development levels on the processes of the construction industry within the companies analyzed. Therefore, the results of a survey applied to people who work on the construction industry, or companies that work for this industry sector, were assayed, analyzing the correlation of two questions related to EHS and questions related to the development level of the company processes. According to the results, among the companies analyzed, 94% of the questions have a moderate or high correlation on investing on EHS and high development of processes.
