Resumen
The constant search for quality in the sectors of construction requires that studies about pathologies are carried out in order to investigate the causes of their appearance and how to correct them, and especially, to develop procedures that avoid their emergence, as they represent additional costs with unplanned repairs, to develop procedures that avoid the appearance, as they represent expenses not planned reforms, delay in work schedule and increase in the estimated budget. This work was used the methodology of IBAPE Inspection Standard (2012) to inspect the construction of a housing complex of social nature in the city of Campo Mourao - PR aiming to identify the main pathologies that relate to the roof system. The problems which affected a large number of dwellings are infiltration stains on the brickwork caused by sealing problems of ridges and bonds that were not correctly executed, excessive nodes in the timbers, deflections and breakage of some pieces of wood of the roof structure. After analysing the possible causes and the procedures used in construction to fix the problems encountered and avoid other injuries, were classified according to the risks that they represent to the environment, to property and to the user and through this study, it was possible to determine which procedures could be adopted to correct the pathology and how to prevent its occurrence. It was found that the method employed by the construction company A was adequate to fix the diseases and that the best way to avoid the appearance of them would be through systematic planning of the activities to be carried out on construction site.
