Resumen
The launching of untreated or treated wastewater without complying with the parameters required by legislation in water bodies has serious impacts on the environment, public health and economic activities. For better control of wastewater treatment plants, several softwares are developed with the purpose of modeling treatment plants. This work aims to evaluate the behavior of a wastewater treatment plant of a dairy industry located in the north of the state of Paraná. This wastewater plant is composed of equalizing tank, a flotation tank, an activated sludge reactor and a settler and will be analyzed by the application of two sewage parameters: Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemmical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the WRc STOAT software using the ASAL1 and IAWQ#1 models, respectively. With the appropriate settings, the values were 2.45mg/L for BOD, with a real value of <3mg/L and 3.84mg/L for COD, with a real value of <5mg/L. By means of this study, it was possible to apply the mathematical models in software in a satisfactory way, without any process error and, as in the real system, confirming compliance with the CONAMA 430/2011 and CEMA 70/2009 legislation. In addition, it was verified the possibility of varying several input parameters in the software in order to observe the behavior of wastewater treatment systems.
