The grid connected distributed generation, is significantly growing in a global scale. Among the types of distributed generation, the most used are the photovoltaic systems and wind generation. In Brazil, besides distributed generation being composed mostly by photovoltaic systems, it’s still expected a huge growth in grid connected microgenerators in the next years. In this context, this work study the impacts that the high insertion of distributed generation will cause in the distribution lines, refering to voltage levels and harmonics. The software used is OpenDSS, where it was simulated many cases with insertion of photovoltaic and wind distributed generation, using the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 13 bus system as a basis case, for a daily period. The results show the variations of the system voltage profile, with basis on the load distances, and show how those variations change considering alterations on the load size, lines size and distributed generation insertion. From the analysis of the results, it was noted an expressive increase of the voltage with the insertion of distributed generation along the feeder, especially when the load is low and the generation is high. By increasing the lines, it was verified a significant voltage drop along the feeder, even with distributed generation. Beyond that, the results of the connection of SFV’s in the distribution system, show an increase of the harmonics due to the electronic inverters.
