Resumen
This work describes the development of an open mechanical platform for mobile robotics. It is justified by the lack of such a platform for students that could be easily reproduced and cheap. The platform was designed with a standard motor and its mechanic was projected to be simple enough to be manufactured with conventional machines. A basic microcontroller system was developed to test the platform also. A manual with instructions for the assemblage of the platform was also elaborated. Both, the manual and the CAD files with the design are going to be publish, to allow potential users to manufacture its own device. Despite some minor deficiencies, the platform could be used to the development of didactic mobile robots. The mechanics and electronics of the platform could be easily improved.
