Resumen
Thermoplastic are materials currently used everywhere, from simple applications such as in toys to aerospace application. Among the usual thermoplastics in our daily life we have widely used polypropylene as raw material for the manufacture of plastic materials and the process used for the making of this object is extrusion and injection. The extrusion even with a widely used process can lead to polymer degradation, so this type of processing, there is the addition of two or more additives to improve the processing of polypropylene and inhibit the occurrence of degradation. The analysis of the melt flow index and DSC curves show parameters for the study of polypropylene degradation by comparing the material without additives and with additives such as antioxidants to control degradation during extrusion processing From the flow analyzes and DSC were identified that after multiple processing polypropylene showed signs of deterioration and when the antioxidant was added, using the same analysis occurred the control of degradation.
