dc.description.abstractThis work presents a qualitative-quantitative survey of urban afforestation of public roads in the municipality of Barbosa Ferraz – PR. An afforestation inventory was carried out through field collections, where the location of the tree individual was verified, its condition in relation to electrical wiring, its height, need for management/pruning, condition in which the root was found, size of the available permeable area. And whether pests or diseases occurred. The botanical families were identified using the classification proposed by The Angiosperm Phylogeny Group - APG IV (2016), for the specific epithets and their respective authors Flora do Brazil 2020, The International Plant Names Index -IPNI (2020) and the database of the Missouri Botanical Garden (2022). The species were classified as native, exotic and invasive exotic according to the decree of the Environmental Institute of Paraná 59/2015 and Flora do Brazil 2020. A total of 4641 arboreal individuals were recorded, belonging to 36 families and 90 species. Of the species surveyed, 46.7% are native, 36.6% are exotic and 16.7% are invasive exotic. The families with the greatest diversity of species were Fabaceae (15), Arecaceae (09), Myrtaceae (07) and Bignoniaceae (06). The species with the largest sampling was Ligustrum lucidum with 729 individuals sampled. The most frequent type of pruning found was the conduction with 89% of occurrence. It is expressly recommended to remove the 15 invasive exotic species found in this study, prioritizing their replacement, preferably, by species native to the region.
