Resumen
The production and consumption of pesticides has grown significantly in accordance with the development of society. For this reason, in recent decades, pesticide residues have become an environmental problem because they are entering bodies of water, as well as causing many public health problems. In this context, bentazone is used during the cultivation of soybean, rice, beans, corn and wheat to fight weeds and, in addition, contaminates the environment reaching surface waters and may contaminate groundwater. Thus, this work evaluated the treatment of effluents, applying the use of heterogeneous photocatalysis, using the zeolite catalyst with titanium dioxide, for degradation of bentazone pesticide in the concentration of 1ppm in aqueous medium, through a photoreactor consisting of a mercury vapor lamp with power of 125 W, and better results were optimized against the reaction parameters catalyst mass and pH. After optimizing the reaction conditions, the photodegradation kinetics was studied in which the pseudo first order for bentazone and methylene blue were adjusted at concentrations of 1 ppm and 10 ppm
