Resumen
Biogas is a gaseous compound that, in addition to its main components, methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) gases, are also present in lesser amounts of contaminating gases, such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and water vapor (H2O), which, when combined, form a sulphurous vapor, which is damaging to the metallic installations surrounding the biodigester, pipelines and pipelines, metal parts of motor generators and turbines, as well as reducing the colorific power of biogas. Considering the removal of one of these contaminants, this work proposes the construction of a filter – low cost and not very complex assembly – for the removal of moisture contained in a biogas stream. In its assembly were used materials of easy acquisition, among them are: polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tube measuring 75 mm in diameter and 1000 mm in length and 3 mm in thickness, ten rings, also PVC, covered with four layers of Synthetic filter cloths – nylon and perfex flannel. However, after assembling and conducting some tests with the filter, it has not been possible to obtain conclusive results on the moisture removal performance since, due to the lack of biogas available for the tests, humidified compressed air, without flow control and other physical parameters, as well as not having exhausted all possibilities of operation in relation to the position of the filter.
