Resumen
The study carried out in this work was based on the evaluation of benzocaine release curves from nanostructured surfaces. The nanostructures were obtained by anodizing titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) in times of 10 and 30 minutes. The benzocaine was then incorporated and released into an aqueous system. The released mass versus time curves showed a sustained release of benzocaine, 4 hours for A1 and up to 12 hours for A3. The curves were then modeled in release models: Zero Order, First Order and Korsmeyer-Peppas. Subsequently, the linearization of these curves was performed to obtain the kinetic parameters. The simulation of curves for each model was also carried out and it was found that the model that best fit in both sets of releases was the Korsmeyer-Peppas model. From this result, the Chi-Square test (X2) was performed to evaluate the correlation of the models with the experimental release curves. Optimizations were performed by changing the parameters of n (diffusional exponent) and k (kinetic constant) obtained through the Korsmeyer Peppas model in order to find values in which the value of X2 would be the smallest possible, indicating a closer approximation of the experimental curve with the simulated curve. The study carried out in this work verified the release model and the kinetic parameters obtained for the release of benzocaine in this release platform.
