Resumen
The basin of the river Ocoy, located in western Parana State, over the last decades has undergone several transformations, usually of anthropogenic causes, such as increased water blade caused by the Itaipu Lake, and the advance of the agricultural frontier. In view of the increasing use of Geoprocessing, especially remote sensing data for environmental analysis, this research aims to apply the Linear Spectral Mixture (SLMM) in orbital images making use of a Geographic Information System (GIS) more specifically Spring. The images are the CBERS-2 satellite and CBERS-2B that the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) offers free of charge. With these techniques and procedures could be generated cartographic documents that show the stages of evolution of this landscape in a short time (2004 - 2009), putting in evidence the representativeness of agricultural land and natural vegetation. Through digital image processing techniques it was possible to quantify reductions in natural vegetation on 34 km², agriculture gains of 19 km², highlighting the need of multi-temporal mapping. Thus, this research is intended not only to present data resulting from the Linear Spectral Mixture Model (SLMM), but systematically organize the steps in the Geographic Information System (GIS), since the creation of the database until the presentation of thematic maps of Ocoy basin.
