Estudo da percepção ambiental dos alunos do ensino médio no Colégio Estadual Manoel de Jesus em Simões Filho, BA

Abstract

This work had as thematic the environmental perception of high school students in the Colégio Estadual Manoel de Jesus, located in the municipality of Simões Filho, in Bahia and aims to contribute to the advancement of the reflections on the most imminent environmental problems in the school community. The relevance of this study is to conduct an assessment of the students' perception of the environment and environmental problems to primarily provide subsidies so that they understand the need to preserve their environment and especially the importance of changing habits and attitudes to a better quality of life. The first part presents a review of the literature, providing information on the definition of perception and the importance of environmental education. Then, a questionnaire was carried out through field research exposing aspects of environmental perceptions 90 local high school students interviewed. The results were analyzed and the conclusion shows that the environmental perception of students is fragmented in reference to the concepts of replace this, and do not include the local socio-cultural aspects and not contribute to an improved quality of life. So what this thread is intended to characterize the environmental awareness of students of a public school in Bahia about the environment and environmental problems. Environmental awareness is essential to understand the interrelationships of the community with its environment and serves as a tool for planning environmental education.
