Avaliação do ciclo de vida: uma ferramenta ambiental sustentável utilizada na esfera industrial

Abstract

In recent years, environmental issues have become a determinant factor for the improvement of sustainable development in industry. The environmental impacts caused by the nature of the processes and products have worsened our environment, bringing concerns in these aspects. To contribute positively in this environmental perspective, the evaluation of the life cycle is a tool that has as objective to identify and assess the environmental impacts through the four steps that correspond to the definition of the objective and scope, inventory analysis, impact assessment and interpretation. This theoretical study aimed to present concepts about sustainability, triple bottom line, LCA and its phases and the environmental aspects, on the basis of norms NBR ISO 14040 and 14044. In this context, the main challenge of industries is to develop actions and sustainable practices and maintain natural resources without compromising the environment.
