Resumen
The increase in demand for electricity, caused by population and economic growth, makes it necessary to search for new alternative energy sources. Wind energy is sustainable and presents economic availability, provided that specific studies are carried out for each region, which include the proposal of Micro and Mini wind power plants, which can consortium with the Hydroelectric, increase energy production for the country. The Southern Region of Brazil stands out for the implementation of these projects, since it presents ideal characteristics of wind and roughness. Thus, the study sought to determine the main areas with potential for wind power generation in Paraná, considering micro-generation and mini-generation distributed, in the state, based on the standards set forth in Resolution 687 of Novemberl 24, 2015. For this purpose, Data from the last 30 years on the intensity of the winds, besides the survey of the models of aerogenerators and calculations on the feasibility of the implantation in the state. As result, a map of the intensity of the Paraná Winds was obtained, in which the Umuarama, Toledo, Cianorte, Campo Mourão, Goioerê, Cascavel and Pitanga microregions were located, which are located in the best areas for wind generation, with winds between 2.4 m / s and 3.1 m / s. Therefore, when installing wind turbines in homes, at a height of 10 meters in these places, it is possible to reduce the costs related to the electric energy of the site by up to 47.2%, which makes this practice feasible, as long as there is greater incentive Of public policies. Thus, the study demonstrates that the implementation of these projects is possible, as long as there are technical studies and a greater offer of wind turbines with tax incentive, aiming to reduce costs and attract more adepts of wind energy.
