Recycling of machining chips from the AA7050 Aluminum alloy by sand casting is an economically advantageous route compared to other foundries. On the other hand, the mechanical process of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) presents an alternative route of the conventional processes, for the closing of superficial pores coming from the foundry. This work aims to bring this alternative route of mechanical process, and the porosity analysis and phases characterization of the aluminum alloy, comparing the properties of the alloy as received and the alloy without going through the machining process with the mechanically processed alloy, thus in view the reuse of this material in the aeronautical sector or in another sector that needs an alloy secondary. Different phases of the AA7050 alloy were found, which required an EDS study of the elements present in the sample, this analysis revealed a relevant amount of Si in the material, from these analyzes unexpected conclusions were obtained but of great value in the characterization of phases.
