dc.description.abstractThis paper approaches the issue of materials reinforced with ground glass. The objective is to characterize the potential of the ground glass as a reinforcement element to be mixed to polyester resin. This paper aims at characterizing the performance of the formed composites identifying the changes resulting from the incorporation in face of the mechanical resistance. The objectives are to verify the potentiality of the usage of the ground glass in terms of workability and mechanical resistance; to define how the incorporation should be made, to verify the aesthetic appearance after curing in the matrix to determine the flexural strength in comparison with addition of various reinforcing elements. As an advantage of the incorporation of ground glass, there is easiness in the search for the raw material, reducing the cost of production.
