dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of the thermal spraying process is a surface coating of parts with a substrate in the form of powder or rod and an inert gas or air. The adhesion of the material to the substrate provides beneficial features and financially interesting to manufactured product, such as increased service life, improvement of the necessary surface mechanical properties according to the type of effort in which the part is subjected in their midst and may even recover a compromised piece. The conventional method of application is performed under the condition that the operator in handling metallic spray jet spraying the substrate at high temperatures. In the long term, these conditions can cause health problems to the operator that performs the application as spinal pain if the gun has a large weight or be improper positioning of work, since the use of repetitive stress can cause RSI (Repetitive strain injuries) and working with flames due to the high temperatures there is a risk of burns and radiation exposure. What about the process, the discomfort the operator can cause deformities in the application on the surface. This work aims to process mechanization, replacing human effort by a machine with a structure similar to a crane, capable of performing blasting application to uneven surfaces by automating the movement made by the operator to an investment at lower cost compared to the use of industrial mechanical arms and using resources available at the university.
