Resumen
Aiming to evaluate the efficacy of application of control methods in individuals of Japanese grape (Hovenia dulcis) as well as the economy and environmental impact of the same, in 2011 to 2013 there was a study in a population of the species in legal reserve area of Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, campus of Dois Vizinhos. The experimental design was on randomized blocks containing 8 trees per treatment, 4 blocks, totaling 32 plants per treatment, 32 plants per block and 128 plants in the whole experiment. The plots consisted of treatments: cut down, girdling, application of picloram + triclopyr 10% in the trunk and application of picloram 2% immediately after cutting. After installing the experiment observations were made monthly for 20 months to evoluate variables like length of sprout and presence of living tissue in the plant. A survey was conducted on-site climate, temperature and rainfall approaching, in order to justify the possible influence response to plants treatment. 600 days after application (DAA), the results showed that the species is in fact controlled by picloram, however the method is more expensive. The other treatments did not show satisfactory results, however the only one that remained unanswered was the girdling, showing rapid reconnection of damaged tissues. It was observed a greater response to treatment in the summer due to the higher metabolism of the plants during this period. Treatments that caused the greatest environmental impact were cutting down and picloram because they caused damage in regeneration.
