Abstract

This monograph is an applied research, based on reliability engineering, which aims to establish a comparison between electronics and electromechanical meters of electricity. This proposal takes into account the new industry of electronic meters that formed in Brazil in recent years. The data used in this paper refers to the Brazilian reality with its specificities. Moreover, the failure data presented in this document are real and from a historical electricity utility. Another relevant issue addressed concerns the regulatory aspects. They are considered to decision making, inherent to reliability centered maintenance, are relevant and applicable to electricity distribution companies in Brazil.
