dc.description.abstractThe analysis of structures subjected to fire is still relatively recent in Brazil and in the world. It is a field that involves several areas of study, including fire detection, design of structural elements and behavior of materials when subjected to high temperatures. It is known that when there is a fire, the elements subjected to high temperatures suffer the loss of their strength and rigidity, making it possible to lose structural stability and consequently the partial or total collapse of the building. For this reason, there is a risk of losing human and property resources. Thus, due to the importance of the subject, this work presents the analysis of the design of a building subjected to fire, the behavior of the materials that make up the reinforced concrete subjected to high temperatures, the presentation of the Tabular, Tabular General and Analytical Methods for the analysis of pillars in a low height building when subjected to a fire situation, following NBR 15200 (ABNT, 2012). Thus, the columns were dimensioned through NBR 6118 (ABNT, 2014) using the TQS® software, then through the Tabular, General Tabular and Analytical Methods, verified for their structural safety for the fire situation, and the need to be evaluated later. Whether or not to change its characteristics, such as dimensions, coverings or materials to comply with NBR 15200 (ABNT, 2012) and the variation in material consumption. It was then verified the need to change the smallest dimension of the columns, causing a variation of +0.95% in the consumption of concrete and -0.30% in the consumption of steel in the building, making it feasible to verify the situation of fire and its implementation.
