This research presents a theoretical study of cases relating crowdsourcing and visual narratives, aiming to highlight opportunities and barriers in the use of crowdsourcing methodology in the creation of concept art. The Systematic Bibliographic Review method was used to collect and select the cases studied. From the analysis of ten (10) articles, the results indicate numerous opportunities for users involved in crowdsourcing projects, such as monetary rewards, visibility and learning possibilities. The number of opportunities outpaced the number of barriers, these have raised serious questions about labor exploitation and copyright. This analysis can be used to evaluate new uses of crowdsourcing within visual narratives, specifically in the creation of concept art.
