dc.description.abstractAutomobilist Competitions are events that fascinate the human kind since its creation until nowadays, where, in these days, a lot of categories and ways of judging team’s characteristics are used as a form of incentivizing competition and the search for better and new technologies with the objective to be called the champion. One of these competitions modalities is in the academic ambient, where students and professors from universities form teams in various kinds of competition, for example: Formula SAE, where teams design and build racing prototypes; MotoStudent, an international competition turned to racing motorcycles; Energetic efficiency, in which Pato a Jato participates since 2009 and currently is seeking to grow its acting field to the urban concept category, in which, this study is focused on. In this document, a conservative approach will be applied to the design of the first chassis of a vehicle, from the project conditions step, to the final analysis of the first versions of the chassis. This Study has explanations of the steps to be taken, characteristics that must be used, situations to be thought on to use in the first calculations, the analysis of the finite element process of the component and comparison to the values estimated through calculus. After the data interpretation, the results obtained are commented and how the applied methodology brings back satisfying results to the defined case of analysis. Suggestions of improvements in the geometry as well as in the material used are made, and also, a new mandatory case of analysis that can be used as a starting point to new studies that continue this document, and, consequently, the second iteration of the chassis presented in the study.
