Resumen
During 2020 and 2021, the world was impacted by the new coronavirus, scientifically known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the pandemic began to spread, the disease has had strong and unprecedented responses in affected countries, from the closing of borders to the quarantine of entire populations, as a way of slowing down the exponential rate of contagion, generating large and social effects. Thus, this work aimed to evaluate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the employment sector in food businesses. For this, descriptive research was carried out, based on information regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on food trades in Brazil, through a bibliographic and documentary survey, using the references published in 2020 and 2021 on this topic, as well as analyzing data from CAGED, comparing the situation of the food trade before and after the great moment of contamination of Covid-19 in Brazil. It was concluded that businesses in the food sector are managing to recover day after day using tools that were secondary before the pandemic. The use of delivery became essential when social isolation was determined, in addition to other methods used, such as withdrawal at the counter, online payments, among others.
