Resumen
Photodynamic Therapy (TFD) is an alternative treatment for diseases with abnormal human cell and tissue growth, such as cancer. The treatment involving TFD consists on the utilization of a Photosensitizer (FS) activated by light in specific wavelengths and generating oxygen toxic species. The Azure A is a high water soluble FS, and its high solubility reduces the selectivity of FS in sick tissue. This way, the combination of FS with carrier systems might enhance the drug selectivity by the target tissue. This work has as objectives synthesize the nickel complexes with Azure A binders and aniline, and characterize them using infrared spectrophotometry. The absorption specters of aniline and the nickel-aniline are identical so that it was not possible to distinguish them using the infrared technique. The nickel-aniline presents crystalline phase. The characterization of the nickel-Azure A complex was not completed, being impossible to affirm the formation of it.
