Efeito da glicerina bruta sobre os parâmetros sanguíneos em bovinos de corte

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of glycerol supplementation on blood parameters. Five ruminally cannulated Nelore steers (522±43 kg) were used in a replicated 5×5 Latin Square arrangement of treatments with experimental period of 21 days long. The treatments were: 0 (control), 3, 6, 9 e 12% of crude glycerin (CG) based on the total dry matter diet. The dry matter intake (DMI), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and non-fiber carbohydrates (NFC) were not affected (P>0.05) by treatments. The inclusion of different levels of CG showed no difference (P>0.05) in the levels of glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides and plasma urea nitrogen. According to information obtained in this study, CG can be used in beef cattle diet up to 12 %, without affecting the parameters studied.
