dc.description.abstractThe great demand for alternatives to the practice of sports has led people to practice street racing, because it is cheap in terms of costs and also, be possible to perform in any physical space. The race demands great aerobic capacity of the individual, the cyclical movements need technique, and frequent practice of the runner, but the same does not have to have any specific ability. On the other hand, Crossfit has been motivated to have an intense muscular demand and a quick improvement in physical conditioning. Thus, this research aimed to analyze whether the practice of Crossfit can positively aid the performance of runners, joining these two modalities in order to develop and potentiate the physical conditioning of the athlete. A quantitative descriptive research was performed. The sample consisted of twenty-eight participants, predominantly male, with ages ranging from 25 to 40 years, divided equally into two distinct groups. One group had only street runners and the other was made up of street runners using Crossfit as a physical preparation. Participants have been practicing sports for more than two years. The data were collected through the application of a questionnaire. The data of this research were analyzed through the Excel program, generating graphs and comparing this study with others already performed. The results showed that the individuals who associated the Crossfit training with Race, achieved better results in street racing, being 14.29% finishing the race over 60 minutes, compared to the group that practiced only Race reaching 64.29 % at the same end time. Individuals also had improvement in body appearance.
