Resumen
The husbandry of wild animal has increased in recent years, this is a very important alternative to keep the genetic bank and diversify the rural production, there are still some difficulties, mainly in the legal aspect concerning these activities. The husbandry of paca (Agouti paca) is one of the most targeted because it is an adaptable animal to captivity, with highly desirable characteristics as regards the quality and flavor of the meat, and for its price practiced in commercialization which is quite high compared to other types of meat . This husbandry is viable in the southwest of Paraná and it can be an economical alternative for producers in the region, which has a lot of interest in the activity. However, legal constraints may discourage such activity, since a number of documents, often difficult to access, are required.
