The use of renewable energies has been a practical and efficient solution for the application in several areas. Vertical wind turbines are mainly used to behave better in turbulent winds and emit low noise levels compared to horizontal axis wind turbines. The use of devices that significantly increase the efficiency of vertical axis wind turbines are increasingly used. In this work a Savonius turbine prototype and two nozzle prototypes were made, the two profiles consisting of radial models, but one with the blades tapering linearly and the other tapering with a slight curvature. Analyzing the performance of the Savonius turbine with the addition of these nozzles, a study was made of the reasons that cause the increase of turbine efficiency with the use of each profile.
