O uso da programação linear para otimização do lucro no transporte de soja

Abstract

This term paper, aims to investigate the profit maximization of an agricultural company in the city of São Jerônimo da Serra, in its transportation of soy to the port of Paranaguá. The Operational Research was used as an investigative method, where the study of Linear Programming led to the analysis of the proposed problem situation and the choice of the algorithm called Simplex Method to solve the aforementioned numerical problem. To this end, company data were collected that influence the administrative sector in the organizational decision-making of its truck fleet. This study was conducted based on the premise that there is the possibility of improvements in the financial sector if the company has tools that will contribute to the decision-making process efficiently and quickly. For the implementation of the model it was necessary to determine the variables and restrictions of this problem, this made it necessary to use the Solver tool of the Excel software applying the Simplex Method, which presented as a result the best combination and repetitions between the trucks to be sent to the port, thus maximizing total profit as expected. The study indicates possibilities for the insertion of this type of tool in business administration, as long as there is a preparation of administrators for the use of this resource.
