Resumen
Machining is a very using process and with great economic appeal. As most manufacturing activities involving a large number of parameters which must be adjusted to obtain an optimal point. One factor that has remarkable influence this process, and is difficult to predict, is the amount of heat transferred in the same. Excessive heat transfer may lead to an excess temperature at the interface tool part, which probably will result in losses. Because it is difficult to predict, a common technique in determining the heat transferred during the process is the reverse heat transfer. This paper aims to present a validation study of a numerical code, which is based on finite volume method - used in the solution of the direct problem - and the golden section method - used for optimization of the inverse problem. For this we using the open literature articles where the heat transfer in flat grinding processes was studied are used. The results show good agreement with the articles used, thus validating the numerical tool used.
