The Pink Ipê (Handroanthus impetiginosus) is a species of the Bignoniaceae family, it occurs in several Brazilian states, deciduous and with great importance for forest restoration. This work aimed to evaluate the physical and physical quality of Handroant impetiginosus seeds by adapting the cold test methodology. The experiment was carried out at the Seed Analysis Laboratory of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Dois Vizinhos campus, in the state of Paraná. The physical analysis of the seeds was carried out with the determination of the weight of a thousand seeds and number of seeds per kilogram, biometry and water content. The cold test performed with and without soil, were based on each 4, with 75 seeds using “Germitest” paper. The seeds were tested for cold exposure of 3, 7 and 10 days. For analysis of results, data were selected for analysis of variance ANOVA and Tuckey test at 5% probability using PAST software. In relation to the physical seeds of approximately 191 g and that in 1 kg it has approximately 5,236 seeds. The dimensions present average dimensions of 20.56mm in length, 12.06mm in width and 3.05mm in thickness with 6% of water thickness. The germination differed from the value informed by the supplier company. The methodology of the adapted test showed the difference between the cold treatments, and the treatment without soil 3 days in the refrigerator presented the best performance. It concludes the work that presented the tested methodology to carry out the experiment of the experiment.
