Resumen
This work presents the development os a translucent thermal accumulator to be used as an integral part of roofs of industrial sheds. Firstly, a bibliographical survey was carried out, addressing the topics of thermal comfort, materials used for coverings, the interaction modes os these as the external environment and definitions of the location chosen for analysis. Posteriorly, the methodology step was elaborated, explaining about the optical and thermal interactions of the selected media as well as the final constructive arrangement of the equipment had been decided. The rates obtained for transmissivity, absorptivity and reflectivity were used to quantify the portions of light energy transmitted to the internal environment and the heat transfer rates were necessary for the dimensioning of the water sheet contained inside the equipment in order to guarantee the thermal insulation os the environment in question. The equipment showed better results regarding thermal insulation and satisfactory results regarding optical behavior when compared to a conventional translucent plate and therefore its construction is considered viable.
