Análise do trecho urbano da Avenida Tupi de Pato Branco - PR, utilizando o método PCI - Pavement Condition Index

Abstract

The road pavement is a structure that directly suffers various stresses from traffic and weather conditions, causing various internal stresses and strains that cause defects of different magnitudes to occur. Therefore, it is necessary that preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out over the life of the pavement. This work has as its main objective to use the PCI Method (Pavement Condition Index) to evaluate a stretch of Avenida Tupi, in the city of Pato Branco - PR, and comparing the results with the survey carried out on the same stretch in 2016. For that, the traffic acting on the stretch was surveyed and, using a specific methodology, the existing defects were identified, as well as their extension and severity to assess the condition of the pavement. After calculating the current PCI and compared with the results obtained in 2016, showing the increase in most defects, indicating a progression of pavement deterioration.
