Resumen
This work deals with the resistance of reinforced concrete beams with holes in the web. For structural calculation is usual employment programs for analysis of global and local analysis of elements such as slabs, beams and columns, assuming simplifications in design. However, there are regions not included in these analyzes, such as dapped ends, corbels, deep beam and holes in beams, the object of this study. Concrete beams with holes in the web characterized calls discrete zones, regions where the nonlinearities geometric Bernoulli simplifying assumption is not valid. Therefore, there is need for a specific procedure for such analysis, which is based on a rational and scientifically proven. Models Strut-and-Tie allow the designer to use the entire structure, both in regions without discontinuities, as in regions with discontinuities. The methodology has as main advantages the best view of the behavior of the structure, and we can more clearly see the stress distribution and ease the identification of the most requested of the structure. Through the program CAST - Computer Aided Strut-and-Tie - graphical tool that uses the concepts of models will be developed connecting Strut-and-Tie simulations, based on the variables position and size of the holes in order to compare the results of numerical analysis limitations proposed by authors with the requirements of the standard in force.
