Resumen
The present paper proposed evaluating the calibration period limitations of the ultrasonic milk analyzer on its physicochemical characterization. The study constituted on the equipment’s calibration using pasteurized milk followed by performance comparison of the Lactoscan SLP analyzer (ultrasonic analyzer), for a period of six months of operation. The performance evaluation consisted in comparing the milk’s physicochemical composition determined by the equipment, with the official analysis methods, as well as its analytical stability during the study period. The studied physicochemical parameters were: fat, fat free dry extract, density, cryoscopic index, ashes, protein and lactose. It has been verified with the performance of this study that density was the parameter where more precision was observed. The other parameters have not shown the same amount of accuracy or precision between its values.
